Devonne Strachan, M.S.W., R.S.W. was born and raised in London, Ontario. She obtained her Masters in Social Work from Wilfrid Laurier University and is a registered social worker in the province of Ontario with good standing with the College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers.
Devonne provides individual, couple and family counselling. Devonne has worked in the mental health field for over twenty years with infants, children, adolescents and adults who have experienced complicated grief and loss, complex trauma, abuse, as well as depression and anxiety. Devonne has experience working with the LGBTQ population.
Devonne works from an anti-oppressive and anti-racism approach within a reflective practice. Devonne works from a humanistic perspective and uses different approaches including Mindfulness, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Narrative and Brief Solution Therapy.
Devonne is trauma informed and trained in the Circle of Security model- an attachment and evidence-based program for parents and children that focuses on relationships. Devonne specializes in Emotionally Focused Couple Therapy an evidence based model with training from the International Centre of Excellence in Emotionally Focused Couple Therapy.
Devonne values connection, personal growth and wellness. She supports the clients she works with to develop healthy coping skills to assist them with finding balance and meaning in their lives to be able to achieve their personal goals.
